Validation of the group nuclear safety climate questionnaire.

2013

Abstract Introduction Group safety climate is a leading indicator of safety performance in high reliability organizations. Zohar and Luria (2005) developed a Group Safety Climate scale (ZGSC) and found it to have a single factor. Method The ZGSC scale was used as a basis in this study with the researchers rewording almost half of the items on this scale, changing the referents from the leader to the group, and trying to validate a two-factor scale. The sample was composed of 566 employees in 50 groups from a Spanish nuclear power plant. Item analysis, reliability, correlations, aggregation indexes and CFA were performed. Results Results revealed that the construct was shared by each unit, a…

Bounds for the relative n-th nilpotency degree in compact groups

2009

The line of investigation of the present paper goes back to a classical work of W. H. Gustafson of the 1973, in which it is described the probability that two randomly chosen group elements commute. In the same work, he gave some bounds for this kind of probability, providing information on the group structure. We have recently obtained some generalizations of his results for finite groups. Here we improve them in the context of the compact groups.

FACTORIAL INVARIANCE OF PERSONALITY RATINGS

1969

Kuusinen, J. Factorial invariance of personality ratings. Scand. J. Psychol., 1969, 10, 33–44—Three studies employing the same set of 33 personality rating scales are described. (I) Five factor structures of the scales, derived from ratings of five groups of stimuli, were compared. (2) One subject rated different personality concepts three times at one week's intervals. (3) 12 individual factor structures were compared to the factor structure computed from peer ratings of a group of 39 subjects. Results: (a) the factor structure of the scales was largely independent of stimuli, (b) the structure for an individual was stable, (c) the group structure represented the individual's structure, (d…

Head-group variations and monolayer structures of diol derivatives

2007

Monolayers of 5 chemically modified diols varying the headgroup (nonadecane-1,2-diol (C1), hexadecyl-propane-1,3-diol (C2), hexadecyl-oxy-propane-1,2-diol (C3), hexadecyl-oxy-butane-1,2-diol (C4), hexadecanoyl-oxy-propane-1,2-diol (C5)) have been investigated by grazing incidence x-ray diffraction at 20°C and at different lateral pressures. C1 and C5 exhibit a centred-rectangular lattice with NN (nearest neighbour) tilt and NN distortion directions. In the case of C1 on increasing the lateral pressure the distortion changes to NNN (next-nearest neighbour direction) without a change in tilt direction (NN). This behaviour could not be observed for the other compounds. C3 and C4 display a phas…
